Folks , just a reminder - on this day 5 years ago, our very good friend & Amateur Radio colleague Lyle Dobbs VK4LM(sk) unexpectedly & tragically passed away on a flight from ROK to Brisbane shortly after departing Rockhampton on the 26/6/2015, - Lyle was one of the founders and loyal supporter of this club & a fully accredited Licence facilitator /examiner, always assisting & encouraging many folk in the area to obtain their licence or offering Technical assistance to anyone with a need ! ..... 5 years on we still miss his presence, - thankfully, his memory and callsign live on in the safe hands of Jack VK4JRC who has gracefully and with great respect , named the current fully operational Winlink Global Radio email system RMS Base station at Bouldercombe as "VK4LM" in remembrance of Lyle & his support of Amateur Radio in Central Qld. This station has to potential to save many lives in times of disaster !
Our thoughts & prayers are with his immediate family , Margaret, Janelle Tresna & Ross at this time .
Lyle Dobbs VK4LM (sk) RIP.
In order to complete our amazing life journey successfully together , it is vital that we turn each and every dark tear into a pearl of wisdom, and find the blessings in every day!
